Medical lab technicians work in diverse settings which include health care, industry, research, and educational institutions.
The job duties include gathering tissue samples, preparing slides for evaluation and testing, and storing specimens properly. The applicants may also assist the pathologists with performing an autopsy.
After completion of the course of Diploma in Medical Lab Technician (DMLT), a candidate can join Government or Private hospitals, Diagnostic labs, Clinics or nursing homes, Doctor offices, Government and private medical colleges and universities.
Diploma in Radiological Technology(DRT)

After completing the diploma course in radiology, students can become Radiology Technicians, A radiographer produces radiography of patients with the help of X-ray to find the exact medical condition of the patient.
The need of educated and professional radiology technologists in hospitals, clinics, and physicians’ offices are increasing continuously. The field of radiography will be continued to show higher than average job growth into the future.
Diploma in Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology (DOTAT)
Affiliated to Directorate of Medical Education, Govt. of Kerala
Duration : 2 years, compulsory internship for six months
Includes Clinical Posting in operation theatres
Examination will be at the end of second year followed by internship for six months
A minimum of 50% marks in each of the subjects is required for a pass. Pass certificate will be issued only on successful completion of six months practical training. As part of the internship no stipend is payable.
Skilled OT technicians not only improve the turnaround time and utilization of the operation theatre, but also brings efficiency in the surgical team, and impacts the patient-service quality parameters and feedback.
The number of OT technicians required in the hospital depends on the number of operation theatres, functional hours and as well as the type of speciality. Generally, if one OT is functional for 24 hours, then the number of technicians required is 3 per OT table in the hospital. Most of the mid-size hospitals have 3 to 4 Operation theatres. A career in operation theatre knowledge is always growing and continuously evolving to meet the demands of the patients, as well as the growing need for ethical healthcare.
The scope of the career is restricted to hospitals but you can always grow into a bigger job role once you have enough experience in this field.
Diploma in Dialysis Technology (DDT)

Duration : 2 years
Clinical Posting and internship should be given in our mother hospital (Rajiv Gandhi Co operative Hospital) containing 25 machines in Dialysis Unit
After one year of classes and practical training the candidate has to appear for examination on two papers. After successful candidates have to undergo one year internship.
Dialysis Technician: A dialysis technian will play crucial role in assisting patients undergoing dialysis treatment.Their responsibilities may include preparing equipment ,monitoring patients during dialysis sessions,and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout the procedure.
